We are pleased to invite you to a seminar led by Clarissa Rayward

Deakin Law School (DLS) and the Alumni Relations Office are delighted to announce the first of our Law Alumni Events for 2017 will be a seminar led by guest speaker Clarissa Rayward. Clarissa will discuss the contemporary shifts of personal branding and social media in our current market.

Clarissa Rayward is a specialist family lawyer, speaker and writer of the blog ‘The Happy Family Lawyer’. Over 13 years of experience Clarissa has helped over 2,000 Australian families through their divorce. This wealth of experience has reinforced her belief that traditional legal processes do little to assist separating families find a positive future after divorce. It takes more than lawyers and Courts to help families through divorce and separation in a way that ensures a positive end to a marriage. For this reason, in 2008 Clarissa established Brisbane Family Law Centre, a multidisciplinary practice where lawyers work alongside counsellors and financial planners to ensure that clients receive the holistic support they need at such a challenging time. Clarissa is determined to change the way Australian families experience divorce and separation for the better.

Having being named among the leading Family Lawyers in Queensland by the Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession, in 2015 Clarissa was awarded the Lawyers Weekly ‘Thought Leader of the Year’ award. Recently, in 2016 Clarissa launched her new venture ‘Happy Lawyer, Happy Life’ in response to the growing number of lawyers and other professionals reaching out to her looking for ways of finding ‘Happiness’ in their careers. Clarissa’s podcast and book both titled ‘Happy Lawyer, Happy Life’ offer insights and resources for legal professionals seeking fulfilling careers and happiness both in law and in their life outside of the law.

As a successful business woman in the legal profession, Clarissa has a strong passion to present and share her knowledge on a variety of insightful topics including unique approaches to family law matters focusing on out of Court resolution. Clarissa’s entrepreneurial approach to law has seen her regular presence on the changing face of the legal profession, particularly in family and relationship law.

With such an impressive profile and experience in the legal space, you will not only have the opportunity to develop your professional network with fellow Alumni and industry guests, enjoy light canapes and refreshments, but your attendance will also count towards your CPD accreditation before the March 31 deadline.
