Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program

"Appreciate the culture, development and way of life of each other's country."

Applications now open for the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program

The Australia-Indonesia Institute (AII) invites applications from Australians aged between 21 and 25 years (at the time of departure to Indonesia), willing to represent Australia for two months in Indonesia during December 2015 to February 2016 as members of the Australia-Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) 2015-16.

The program aims to provide wider opportunities for young people from Indonesia and Australia to appreciate the culture, development and way of life of each other's country and to build groups of young and potentially influential people in both Australia and Indonesia who have knowledge and personal experience of the two countries and who develop close and enduring links with each other.

Participants will be chosen from applicants undertaking tertiary studies or employed in any one or more of the following areas:

Agriculture, Aquaculture, Arts, Music, Asian Studies, Economics, Business, International Relations, Education, Engineering, Science, Environmental Management, Gender Studies, Journalism, Media, Information and Communications Technology, Law, Health, Politics, Sport, Tourism and Hospitality.

A good level of Indonesian language is essential as the basics of the Indonesian language must be acquired before applying. Applicants must be in good health.

The Indonesian AIYEP participants are due to arrive in Australia in October 2015.

Closing date

The closing date for applications is 3pm AEST Monday 31 August 2015.
