Solving the organ crisis ethically

How Australia should address the shortage of organs for transplantation?

Australian organ donation rates lag behind comparable countries worldwide, sitting considerably below the world's best and behind at least 20 countries, including the USA, UK, Belgium and France. The government has recognised this as an area of concern and has ordered a review into the current donation and transplantation programme.

Deakin Law School Lecturer Dr Neera Bhatia will be joined by Peter Singer AC, Professor Julian Savulescu and other key presenters, to examine the ethics of a proposed broad range of policies to increase organ donation rates.
