DLS invites you to the inauguration of the ICA Moot Competition.

Deakin Law School invites you to a seminar on the topic of 'ICC Court and Tribunals – Approaches to Jurisdictional Objections' delivered by international speaker, Ms Ziva Filipic, Managing Counsel of the International Chamber of Commerce Court and Vis Moot Arbitrator.

This presentation will form part of the inaugural Deakin International Commercial Arbitration Moot, sponsored by Allens.

The Moot is an initiative borne out of Deakin Law School's Centre on the Legal Profession, in which six teams from four Victorian universities will compete. Deakin Law School is honoured to welcome Ms Filipix as judge and speaker on the night.

Ziva Filipic is Managing Counsel of the International Chamber of Commerce Court

Ms Filipic has supervised over 200 pending arbitrations as Counsel for the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, covering different sectors and countries including Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

Ms Filipic holds an LLM in International Business and Commercial Law from King’s College London (KCL) where she was a member of the first KCL team at the Vis Moot arbitration competition. She later coached the winning KCL team during the oral rounds of the competition in 2010. She is fluent in English, Italian, Spanish and French, and also speaks German, Croatian and Serbian.
